Released at 02:34 KST on October 31, 45.2.0 adds Windows menu highlight colors and extension chrome.storage.sync. The latter is another local store with Chrome sync quotas, without cross-device synchronization. Version 43.8.5 followed at 04:45, fixing Linux crashes on disconnected D-Bus calls. Both stable npm files passed SHA512 checks and official Windows binaries were available. Developers can test storage semantics, menus, DevTools saving and the affected Linux path.
Released at 08:35 KST on October 31, stable 43.8.6 brings repeated file: URL net.fetch improvements to the 43 branch and fixes from ANGLE, Chromium, V8 and other upstream projects. The official GitHub release and Windows binary were verified. The npm version lookup returned 404 at 09:01 KST; npm availability is unconfirmed. Developers can test repeated file requests in 43-series apps.
Released at 08:12 KST on October 31, 46.0.0-alpha.4 is a prerelease. It fixes removed right-clicked elements remaining alive. The official GitHub release and Windows binary were verified, but npm returned 404 at 09:01 KST. Developers can test context menus and element lifetimes after removal in an alpha environment.
Released October 31 at 09:44 KST, stable Electron 45.2.1 backports upstream Chromium fixes and updates Chromium to 156.0.8078.75. The official release notes and actual npm package were checked, including SHA512 integrity. Developers can review browser compatibility and update regressions in existing 45.x applications.
Released at 16:32 KST on October 31, stable 44.10.1 fixes DevTools repeatedly asking for a save location, incorrect Save As targets, Linux cancellation handling and webContents.adjustSelection ignoring end. It brings net.fetch improvements and upstream fixes already noted in other branches to the 44 series. Official notes, npm file SHA512 and Windows binary availability were verified. Developers can regression-test saving, selection and file requests in 44-series apps.
Released at 10:01 KST on October 31, this stable version adds CLAUDE_CODE_SUBAGENT_EFFORT and gateway pooled group budgets and layered policies. It fixes PowerShell hook blocking on exit code 2 and uploads outside working directories under --restricted. Opus 4.8 fast mode is scheduled for removal on November 30, returning errors without standard-mode fallback. Official notes and npm SHA512 were verified. Developers can review subagents, permission boundaries, hooks and the planned mode transition.
Released at 10:19 KST on October 31, 0.67.0-nightly.20261031.g6814e00d6 is a prerelease. Per-extension locks serialize concurrent installs; fixes cover shadow-repository Git excludes, canonical symlink paths and Windows file checks. It also flushes SSE buffers at EOF and preserves the selected model across fallback, cancellation and rewind. Official notes and npm SHA512 were verified. Developers can test installs, file discovery and stream recovery separately from stable releases.
An October 31 official security article explains that default Express body parsers send Content-Encoding: br requests to Node.js’s Brotli decoder, exposing the CVE-2026-111497 path. It recommends a Node.js release with the patched decoder. If upgrading is unavailable and Brotli is unnecessary, reject that encoding before every body parser or decompression middleware. The article also recaps existing middleware fixes; it is not a new CVE or initial package release. Developers can review runtime versions and decompression order.
At 21:03:28 KST on October 31, GitHub Trending daily showed Orkas-AI/Orkas with 5,860 total stars and 1,004 stars today. Its project page describes an MIT-licensed, local-first desktop AI team tool. Developers can review coordination across coding agents and connector permissions. This is an independent-project observation, not an AI vendor-official plugin, skill or version release. The two star metrics are separate; no install counts, usage rankings or growth were inferred.
