First setup

When the server first starts, there are no accounts. The first account created becomes this server's administrator.

The first administrator account

1. Open the server address (for example https://remote.example.com) in a browser and go to Log in. A server with no account shows Create the administrator account right away.
2. Enter an email, a password (at least 8 characters) and the Setup token. The setup token is the RD_SETUP_TOKEN value in the server settings, and it is needed only when creating the first account.
3. After signing up, you are logged in as the administrator right away. The administrator account does not need separate email verification.

Optional · Apply for a TASTEDEV account with this email: A website account for your licenses and product news. Setup finishes without it. Sent to GXSOFT: Email, display language, server version, install ID, time of application, server IP (connection log). Not sent: Password, setup token, server web address, this server's members and devices.

In production, the server does not start if there are no accounts and RD_SETUP_TOKEN is empty. You may remove the setup token after the first account is created.

The administrator account cannot be suspended or have its password reset. Admin in the top menu shows only for the administrator.

What to do next

1. In Admin › Sign-up, decide who creates accounts (users sign up themselves / only the administrator). More accounts need a server license. See Server license.
2. To use mail, enter the Mail server (SMTP) on the same page and check it with Send test mail. Email verification, password reset and invitation mail can be turned on only with a mail server.
3. In Admin › Branding, enter the organization's name and icon.
4. Check on the Download page that the host installers are on the server.
5. Register your own computer in My devices and test connecting.
